Heirloom Baby High Chair Restoration

An heirloom baby high chair passed down through generations is restored and refinished with child-safe, zero-VOC coatings for a new family arrival.

The Story Behind the Piece

This cherished baby high chair, passed down through generations, was brought to us in anticipation of a new family arrival. Over decades of service, the old paint had begun peeling away, and the structural joints were starting to fail. It was clear the piece required a complete overhaul to ensure it would be safe and durable for the next generation.

With a generous timeline of over three months, we were able to take our time and address every detail. We scraped away all of the old, failing paint, taking the entire wooden frame down to bare wood. This essential preparation allowed us to properly repair and secure the failing joints, restoring the physical strength and stability of the frame.

Because infants and toddlers have a natural tendency to chew on surfaces, selecting the right finish was our highest priority. We applied several layers of specialized, child-friendly zero-VOC primer and paint. The resulting clean, protective finish ensures the high chair is safe for everyday use and ready to welcome its newest family member.
